The course focuses on the strategic, operational, and organizational issues companies face when they decide to go global. The Strategic Imperatives concentrates on the industry-level of analysis whereby elements of the external environment are examined with respect to their implications for and impact on the formulation of international strategies.

The Organizational Challenge concentrates on the organizational level of analysis and the capabilities required to implement strategies to expand into international markets and compete successfully. The Managerial Implications concentrates on the individual level of analysis, who are the individuals responsible for formulating and implementing international business strategies, and what skills do they need today and tomorrow to ensure ongoing business success in foreign markets.
